We can arrange for the body of the person who has died to be brought home or taken to our chapel of rest.
Bringing the body home can feel intimidating, but is for many a natural instinct, indeed it was part of our culture until recent history. We can help and support you with this decision. In our experience, bringing the body home can have huge emotional benefits, and in the case of an unexpected death, or when a child has died, it allows time for acceptance of loss.
Our chapel of rest is on the beautiful Dartington Hall estate and we encourage you to spend as much time here with the body as you need. Many people take a peaceful walk up the river and come back for tea by the fire.
"I am so grateful for the help of people who not only provided everything necessary but who also showed such warmth and care and who were there when needed and totally unobtrusive beyond that. The service you supplied was exemplary and I cannot thank you enough for making such a painful and difficult time easier to bear."
