Willow is the ultimate in environmental recycling and the willow used for these coffins is grown in rows of bushes on the Somerset Levels.
The Somerset Willow Coffin is hand-worked by traditional basket weavers using age-old methods that have changed little over 2000 years.
These coffins are completely bio-degradable and natural. No glues, resins or metal are used in their manufacture. Once harvested it can generate back to the same height within a year.
This coffin can be the made in the traditional style or round ended and comes in either buff willow, which is a dark orange to chestnut-brown, or gold, which is a lighter colour. If you wish, naturally dyed bands of colour can be woven in, top and bottom, as well as handles. There are 15 colours to choose from.
Or, you can have a hand painted coffin, (or even a rainbow) for £1000.
These come with natural calico lining, that includes a cotton pillow and covering sheet.

If you wish naturally dyed bands of colour can be woven in. These are £900, or you can have a coloured coffin (or even a rainbow) for £1000. For coffins over 6’2” there will be an extra charge of £40.
